Liberia's Finance Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan said the country's record $1 billion in tax collections for the year has already been spent, allocated to new soldiers, early salary payments, and overdue debts to local banks and media houses. He noted that roughly $200 million of the total came from a one-time mining payment that will not recur in 2027, leaving the government preparing for a corresponding revenue gap.
